About the Vessel

The Original Explorer

Coral Discoverer is the original Coral Expeditions expedition ship — the vessel that first brought the company's intimate, expert-led approach to the Kimberley. At 72 metres and carrying up to 72 guests, she offers the most intimate experience in the fleet.

Her compact size is a genuine advantage in the Kimberley. She can anchor closer to gorges, navigate tidal rivers with greater agility, and reach anchorages that are simply inaccessible to larger vessels. Every voyage is led by a hand-picked team of naturalists, historians and marine biologists.

Coral Discoverer is the exclusive home of the Lens on Nature photography expedition — a 7-night voyage delivered in partnership with Australian Geographic, designed for photographers and visual storytellers who want to capture the Kimberley at its most compelling.
